The very first smartphone to feature an Intel processor will be released in India this week. The device maker is Lava International and the smartphone is being referred to as the Xolo X900.
Intel’s chip featured inside the Xolo X900 is code-named Medfield. It is an an Intel Atom based chip. The phone will boast some nice features such as a 4.03 inch screen and Intel’s new Z2460 single-core chip running at 1.6Ghz.
Although it is a single-core chip, it is said to be much more powerful than current dual core and quad core chips being sold in most smart phones currently. Intel’s push into the market could mean big things or it could be a big flop. How will Intel fair in the smartphone industry?
