Larry Page promises cheaper Android tablets in the future

Google’s CEO Larry Page had some interesting comments at their Q1 earnings call for 2012 today including predictions about CPC for mobile and the future of android tablets. He mentioned that mobile CPC, which is essentially the pay per clicks of ads, “will pass that of the desktop and PC soon.” When asked about Android tablets, Page had this to say  “we definitely believe that there is going to be a lot of success at the lower end of the market. As well, with lower-priced products that will be very significant. It’s definitely an area we think is quite important and that we’re quite focused on.”

His comment adds fuel to the fire that Google may be seriously considering releasing a powerful yet relatively cheap ($199) 7-inch tablet to compete with the iPhone an Kindle Fire.
