BlackBerry numbers continue to drop; All hope rests on BlackBerry 10

Research in Motion, the manufacturer of BlackBerry smartphones, reported another sizable quarterly loss on Thursday, September 27th. It was a smaller drop than the previous quarter, however it was still a huge loss of $235 million. RIM has already delayed the release of the new BlackBerry 10 twice now and it is scheduled to be released in the first quarter of 2013. What this means to the mobile world is that basically the future of the RIM company lies on the release of the BlackBerry 10. Analysts predict that if the BlackBerry 10 isn’t a big success then RIM will only stay alive for a year or two after its release before they eventually sell the company and BlackBerry might cease to exist.
