Mozilla Firefox, who is known for their web browsing service, has made a push onto the low-end of the mobile smartphone market. However, they will only own 1% of all global smartphone shipments in 2013. Strategy Analytics do not see much of a growth for Firefox. “Firefox OS will continue to remain “niche” because of low brand awareness, a limited retail presence (especially in the U.S.) and an ecosystem of developers that is still too small.” Android still owns 67% of all global smartphone shipments and it could take up to two years for that to turn around.
