Illiterate Children Learn Using Tablets

“One Laptop Per Child” organization is having a project in Ethiopia in which they are dropping of tablets to villages. These Motorola Xoom tablets that are already loaded with apps such as games, cartoons, e-books, and educational programs. The goal is to give these tablets to illiterate children and let them experiment and learn on their own because some areas don’t have teachers available for the children. In some areas that they have already started the experiment and researchers have gone back after couple of months and found the children using the tablets. Some of them were able to write some words and show the functioning of the tablet.
