Sprint Offers Personalized Names as Alternatives to Phone Numbers

Sprint will be the first mobile carrier in the U.S. to offer the innovative new service called StarStarMe. This service will allow customers to use a word of their choosing as their phone number instead of a number. This service will allow people to call others by tapping the star key twice on the phone’s keypad, followed by the name, nickname or unique word that the user chooses. For example, **SARAH (**72724) or **CHLOE (**24563).

This new service might change the way we now know the mobile world if enough people use it. With this service, if you’re trying to give someone your phone number, instead of giving someone 10-digits that are hard to memorize you can now give them a simple and easy word to remember.
