China’s Smartphone Market dominated by Android

During the third quarter of this year Android took hold of 90.1 percent of the smartphone market in China. During the second quarter Android only held 83 percent. While iOS fell to 4.2 percent from 6 during the third quarter. Apple still plans to release iPhone 5 into the Chinese market but with Android holding such a large portion, and iPhones costing more than Androids, it will be difficult for Apple to gain more share of the market which would lock iOS out from a large portion of the smartphone market, with 42 million smartphones shipped to China during the second quarter, out of 158 million smartphones shipped worldwide.
