EU and US are against ITU internet changes

Next month in Dubai 193 countries are gathering together to voice their opinion about charging foreign web traffic. Some countries want to tax foreign content and service providers, but all 27 European Union countries as well as the US are against this proposal. Some countries justify charges because the money would allow them to expand their networks but those that oppose these changes say that the way the Internet works is fine. If a law such as this would pass it would force companies to considered where to offer their services and through which country to route their traffic.

EU stands with the US against proposed ITU internet changes: ‘If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’.
