Blackberry has confirmed that BBM will be available as a free download for Apple on the 22nd of this month and Android devices the 21st of this month, but it will not be available for Windows phones. Blackberry has decided to make this move to “become an independent multi-platform messaging solution”. This development may take away business from Skype and Whatsapp.
