Twitter Alerts to Now Allows Push Notifications

Twitter Alerts, the emergency notification service used by twitter, is now allowing users to opt-in to push notifications from emergency services, NGOs, and governmental organizations. This would allow these organizations to send notifications straight to user’s phones to give them critical information in a time of crisis. Organizations like the Red Cross and CDC are already involved in twitter alerts.
