Cover launches in NYC to let you pay restaurant bills with your phone

Cover is a new app that has been in beta testing in New York for about 10 months and lets you pay your bill at restaurants with your phone. The bill split up by the restaurant and diners simply view their phone to view the bill in the Cover app. However, since the restaurant splits the bill evenly it leads to the problem of paying more than they intended if someone in their party orders extra food. The target group for the app so far has been Michelin-starred restaurants since most smaller restaurants already use different payment apps. Also, it has a reliance on the restaurants to adopt their app if they are going to be successful. They company faces the challenge of making this app convenient and valuable to both customers and businesses.
