Yesterday, Livescribe released the Livescribe 3 smartpen that features a new design that is built to work with smartphones and tablets. Basically, the Livescribe 3 smartpen can now connect to the user’s mobile devices such as an iPad or iPhone and automatically transfer any notes taken to the said devices. Previous versions of smartpens were all about syncing to the users desktop/laptop through the use of software called Evernote. The new smartpens allow the user to record audio from their mobile device’s built-in microphone and share recordings and notes taken through email and services such as Evernote and Dropbox. By syncing the smartpens and mobile devices, users can make use of and share notes much easier than before. Livescribe’s new smartpen is attempting to revolutionize note-taking for users constantly on the go, and it seems as if they are doing a great job.
