Google tests ART foundation in KitKat

This developmental software was released with the new KitKat OS and is designed to load apps much faster than they have  previously been able to. This is supposed to eventually replace the run-time program Dalvik which is currently used on android devices by default. The goal with ART is for all apps to run as they are native, instead of using Dalvik which processes an app first and then runs JIT (Just-in-time) to turn the app in to native code so it can be executed. This software has been released with the new Android OS but it is still being tested and they expect the next OS to fully support ART instead of Dalvik.
