At the time, there was only one available that had been specifically designed for Android development, though demand for such tools was on the rise. Microsoft to get EU approval for $7.3B Nokia deal

Microsoft will soon take over Nokia’s headquarters in Espoo, Finland. The $7.3 billion deal would nab Microsoft the phone (and now tablet) business of Nokia, while the networks business would remain independent. San Diego Develops New Mobile Identification System

The San Diego regional planning agency, SANDAG, has been quietly rolling out a new mobile face recognition system that will sharply change how police conduct simple stops on Americans. A Free C++ Compiler for Android, But…

Intel has just launched a C++ compiler for Android that compiles C++ source code and generates Android compatible bytecode. It isn’t the first C++ compiler to do it: The c4droid C++ compiler and IDE is available in Google Play for a few dollars, and the Android Developer Tools (ATD) plugin for the Eclipse IDE includes support for compiling code written in C or C++. It is, however, the only Intel C++ development tool that’s completely free for developers.

Nokia Amber update arrives for AT&T Windows Phone 8 handsets

Microsoft updates Windows Phone App Studio after developer projects soar

Microsoft is updating the recently launched beta of Windows Phone App Studio to improve performance and scalability after the new app development tool crossed 55,000 active projects. The service was launched in a bid by Microsoft in order to increase the number of applications that are available on Windows Phone by allowing all users to create their own apps without writing any code. The service allows users to choose from a number of templates to get started. Then they are able to add content such as images, videos, RSS, and Twitter feeds. Although it is being worked on, the company didn’t provide any details on when Windows Phone App Studio would become generally available.
