Amazon Helps Promote Android with Free 50BG Cloud Storage

Amazon has struck a promotional deal with Android hoping to see a later ROI. Amazon is offering 50GB of it’s cloud storage free with the purchase of any Android smartphone. The list also includes all the latest devices from Samsung, LG, Motorola, HTC, and more. Amazon is hoping that this will be enough incentive to get customers to renew their storage for another year. Your data will be saved but you won’t be able to access it after a year without paying the annual fee.

YotaPhone is bring to the future a dual-screen smartphone

YotaPhone is exploring new ways to save your battery life on your smartphone without losing any functionality. YotoPhone has combined the old e-ink screen on one side to save power and the regular smartphone screen on the other. YotaPhone has a few apps including navigation that can use this feature. I think this is going to be a flop that stays outside the US.

Gaming on Tablets Thanks to Buffalo Wild Wings

Buffalo Wild Wings is testing table-tablets to see how they work. Now you can sit and play games while waiting for your food. The tablets are suppose to offer games for both kids and adults. The adult games consist of poker and trivia that you can play against members of your table and even others in the restaurant. Will this catch on or will people rather continue to play on their own devices.

Isis Payment Service could work with New Partners

Isis Payment Service stands to overcome the obstacles that Google Wallet has fail to. Isis believes that the only way for this new payment system to work is by having the right stores onboard.  Isis so far has ties with CVS, Macy’s, Radio Shack, Walgreens, and others. Although Isis is only offered on the Android right now and you have to go down to the store in person to get the new “enhanced” SIM card but with these huge stores using Isis it might just be worth it.

Phones on a Plane

Mobile phones had been for the longest time a huge concern on planes that your phone should be completely turned off during takeoff and landing. The FAA has now changed the rules do to a study that proved there was not interference between cell phones and planes during takeoff and landing. You still won’t be able to text or make phone calls but you will be able to play games and watch videos from start to finish of the flight. One thing that I found interesting is that the FAA says that the phone should be in the backseat storage during takeoff and landing they just don’t have to be turned off. All in all I don’t think the changes are to drastic or really change to much.

Mobile Food

Mobile technology is changing the way we interact with restaurants before we go to them. It could be said that this is ruining the eating out experience but it allows people to avoid eating somewhere they might not actually want to. Our phones can be used to explore review sites like Yelp, Zagat, and Urbanspoon which have all gone mobile. Some restaurants are now starting to take mobile reservation and allow you to pay your bill via your smartphone.

Verizon designed a room in the middle of the most network compatible area to block out all network signals in-turn to give some of the best minds the perfect atmosphere to design future devices with the best possible service.
