Twitcasting

A app that has successfully spread in japan is starting to turn heads. Twitcasting is an app similar to twitter, however you broadcast and watch live video feed. The app also pushes the videos to your twitter feed so that people can see. It’s mostly popular in japan, with brazil and mexico not to far behind. The company is hoping to see how it goes in america, however they may have some legal issues with twitter itself. The app to download is very unusual, you must download two apps, one to make the video and the other to publish it. WE already have instagram video and vine that does it in one single app. Although twist casting has not become popular in america, it is available for download on android and iPhone.

Cannonball

A new app by the name of cannonball has been created for iPad. The app is made to make sorting through emails easier for users. The app functions best with iPad. A user can sort through their email like they are actually sorting through real mail. There are multiple sections to sort emails, just as you would with mail. There is junk, bills, coupons, letters. The app also allows the user to look through different emails they thought they would never pay attention to. The design of the app could be the reason behind why it’s popular. The realistic feel it gives to users could be a good thing. The app does have some problems, such as searching for different emails, because of it’s unique searching tool. The app was created in Massachusetts by two MIT alumni.

Foursquare and small Business Ads

Foursquare has expanded its platform for small businesses and their advertising. Small business now will not have to go through the sales team to get their advertisements into the app. Foursquare has also created a way for businesses to know that their advertisements are working. If a customer goes to a business because of the advertisements then foursquare is now apart of the reason that business is bringing in income. The business will only pay when a person clicks on the advertisements or a customer checks into the restaurant. This new change will not effect existing users, except for advertisements to businesses that they may want to go to.

Paying restaurant bill with your phone

A new app called COVER has been created to help with paying the bill at restaurants. The app has been in Beta in New York for 10 months with local restaurants who are partners with the company. Cover helps to split the bill of large groups of people eating together. The person tells the restaurant that they are paying with cover. From there whatever is put on the bill is split evenly amongst those who ordered. The app is created to cater to customers, however, it has some problems. The app splits the bill evenly based on how many people are in the group. This means that if someone ordered an appetizer or an expensive drink then everyone pays helps pay for it. The app also helps with the accounting situation restaurants must go through making in more simple for them. Cover is still in testing and still has different features that need to be added. But this can be the future of paying for dinner.

Chipotle Scarecrow

Chipotle has created the first successful Advergaming app that advertises for the company while also creating a fun game for users to play. They created a animated film that basically helps promote chipotle and their ideas about food integrity. This is one of the best marketing campaigns created. It has reached millions of people and has been downloaded on over a million iPhones. The game, or app itself is produced in a way that captivates users. It has a plot, beautiful graphics, and it’s not an app that causes you to use your money to buy tokens and such. However, the app does have a few kinks. It was produced to appear only on iOS 6 and higher, which means some iPhone users are left out. Aside from that, it appears to only work best on iPhone 4s’s and up. The app also has some bugs that keeps it’s rating down. But the game’s overall use is to not be a game, but an advertisement for chipotle.

Intel Phone Walk

Intel is working on a new security option for smartphones. The demo, which was revealed recently, demonstrates how a smartphone can determine who you are by the way you walk. The rhythm in which you walk is determined by the smartphone’s accelerometer and gyroscope. By saving this information, the phone knows who it’s rightful owner is. However, if someone were to steal the phone, it would automatically detect that the person is not the owner due to their walk. When this happens, the phone will lock automatically on it’s own. It’s a new security device intel is still developing. Hopefully, if released, the device can help with the protection of different smartphones on the market.
