Google attempts to block Acer from releasing a smartphone in China using Android-competing operating system.

Acer had planned to release the Acer CloudMobile A800 earlier this week, but efforts by Google have delayed the launch.  The CloudMobile A800 uses a modified version of Android operating system called Aliyun, which is made by a Chinese search and social networking company called Alibaba.  Acer already sells Android phones which rely on Google’s services, which gives Google leverage in negotiations with Acer.
