iBotta is an app that has recently taken off and become increasingly more popular since Apple recently named it a “Best New App”. The goal of iBotta is to provide its users a platform where they can earn cash just by shopping at grocery stores, home improvement stores, retailers and even restaurants. iBotta reports that users have already earned over 3.7 million dollars in cash back. The premise is this, you go into a grocery store and load up iBotta, the app shows you items that you can buy and earn cash back for, you purchase the item and provide proof of purchase by using your receipt as a record and iBotta gives you the cash via the app. From there you can load it on numerous forms of gift cards or transfer it to a paypal account. The only limitation I notes so far is that the products available to earn cash back on are limited. If the company can get numerous more restaurants and companies on board this app could prove to be very beneficial to consumers.
