Apple ‘halves production of iPhone 5c

Production of the iPhone 5c has already been cut in half, now only 150,000 are being made daily. This device was Apple’s attempt to break into the lower cost cell phone market, it is curious why Apple would slow production of this device, when there is clearly a demand for a low cost iPhone.

80 percent of iPhone purchasers in China are picking the iPhone 5s

The following article found on idownloadblog shows that iPhone 5s sales surpass the iPhone 5c by an extensive amount in China. Originally many believed that the iPhone 5c was targeted towards the Chinese market so it is interesting to see that it’s being buried by the 5s. The article states that 90 percent of iPhone sales this past weekend in China were the iPhone 5s. Overall the iPhone 5s shares 80 percent of the market in China compared to the iPhone 5c. It is forecasted that the smartphone market in China will jump by almost 100 million shipments as a result of both the implementation of 4G networking in China as well as the massive amount of iPhone sales.

Demand for Gold iPhone 5s greater than expected

The launch of Apple’s new ‘gold’ iPhone 5s color has drawn considerable demand for todays release. The gold version of the phone was the first to sell out on the Apple website according to the fact that it was the first color to require a 7-10 waiting period after the initial batch sold out. Apparently Apple’s unexpected and seemingly improbable move to make a gold color iPhone has had enough to entice consumers from many countries into buying this new eye candy iPhone 5s. Read More…

US Mobile Telecom Carriers Unveil New iPhone 5C Installment-Payment Plans

With the release of the new iPhone 5C Model, the major mobile telecom carrier companies in the US (Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile) are also using new types of installment plans that go with the iPhone 5C.

These new installment plans require payments of around $20 per month for 20-24 months. This is different from how some older installment plans for other phone models require a large down-payment to occur at the start of the installment plan.

These new installment plans appear to be another method of the telecom carrier companies to invite people to purchase a iPhone 5C & installment plan with their company.

These new installment plans may encourage people with tighter budgets to switch/upgrdade to an iPhone 5C with installment plan as these specific plans spread out the costs over a longer period of time with a smaller payment conducted each month compared to larger payments in older installment plans.

Apple makes iPhone 4s free on contract

With every new iteration of an iPhone Apple tends to make the previous phone available for free as a budget iPhone. They have done the same with the release of the iPhone 5s but you won’t be getting your hands on the previous iPhone 5 for free but rather the outdated iPhone 4s. The idea behind it is that they are releasing the iPhone 5c as well, marked to be the new budget iPhone. The 5 and 5c are the same phone for all practical purposes, meaning consumers buying the 5c would be paying for less phone if the 5 were available for free. Also the 4s will only be offered with 8 gigabytes of storage where the the 5c offers up 16gb for $99. Read more…

The one thing that hasn’t leaked about the next iPhone is the only thing that matters

There has been a lot of hype around Apple’s new iPhone 5S and the “cheaper” iPhone 5c that will be revealed on Sept. 10th. However, while many tech specs have leaked, there has been no confirmation of the price Apple will be putting on their new devices. It looks like Apple is realizing that there is a strong market for cheaper smartphones as their iPhone 4 is popular in emerging markets. They also face competition from Android’s very cheap smartphones. It is said that the price of the new iPhone 5C could run between $300-$450, which is still not much less than they are charging for the iPhone 4. Apple faces  a compromise between the US market and the Chinese market based on what price they decide on for their latest phone.
