Blackberry reports near $1 Billion Loss in Q2 2014

Blackberry reported this afternoon after a stop in trading that they had a net operating loss of $990 million to $995 million. The company noted that the loss was largely in part of underwhelming Blackberry Z10 sales. The quarterly earnings took a large hit too, with nearly have the revenue and phones shipped in Q2 compared to Q1. In order to turn their situation around Blackberry aims to make the Z10 a flagship introductory device to draw in new smartphone users. Also a devastating result of the near billion dollar loss is a layoff of some 4,500 employees.
